This highly-anticipated voice casting for Disney’s live-action reboot of The Lion King has been rumored for months, but now it’s officially confirmed. While the star-studded cast features award-winning Donald Glover (Simba), James Earl Jones (back again as Mufasa), and John Oliver (Zazu), we are especially excited to learn that Beyoncé will provide the voice of Nala. It’s only fitting that the queen of entertainment plays the queen of the jungle, and, along with the official account of Disney, the megastar confirmed it yesterday on social media.

Following the successes of similar remakes like Beauty and the Beast, this film, which will be directed by The Jungle Book’s Jon Favreau, is predicted to be a blockbuster hit for contemporary audiences. The original animated movie is fan favorite, and the soundtrack has sold over 14 million copies to date. “It is a director’s dream to assemble a talented team like this to bring this classic story to life,” said Favreau in a statement confirming the cast.

While the film does not have an official release date, it is said to be coming to theaters in 2019. Seriously, we can’t wait.
