Ever since announcing her engagement to Prince Harry, the world's eyes have been fixed on Meghan Markle — and her style. We'll be following the Meghan Markle Effect™ with our column, "Meghan Markle Wore a Thing."

In the two short months since Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle to become the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, said Duchess has jumped right into her royal duties — garden parties, more royal weddings, day-dates with Queen Elizabeth — and has shown sartorial favoritism for one silhouette in particular: the boatneck neckline. It's quickly becoming her staple, with her already tacking it onto roughly four different pieces by just as many designers. (That's including her wedding dress: a now-iconic, off-the-shoulder silk gown by Givenchy's Clare Waight Keller.)

On Tuesday, a day after Prince Louis's christening, the Duchess arrived for the RAF100 Service (commemorating the Royal Air Force) at Westminster Abbey wearing a new boatneck! Like most of what she wears formally, this one comes bespoke, courtesy of Dior: It's a deep navy satin, featuring a cinched waist (and a tiny belt) above a full midi-length skirt. She paired the frock with a custom Stephen Jones fascinator (another one of which she also wore to Monday's christening) and a small black leather clutch.

In October, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will hit Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand for a week-long royal tour. Just think how many boatneck necklines we'll see during that trip. Maybe she'll even wear a boatneck on a boat! We have plenty of time to mull this over.
